The journey begins

My initial thoughts about this course?

The video reinforced my thinking in the following areas:

  • YES. It is never too late to learn - even for me.
  • I enjoy the learning, it is the challenge of getting the technology to work when I need it - and when there are 30 or so kids waiting for it to go. But things WILL get better.
  • There are challenges not problems.
  • MAKE time to play - to explore and discover.

BUT, I will be selective in the tools I choose to incorporate. There is never enough time to do what has to be done, so I don't see any point in doing things just because it is possible. I intend thinking about what will help in my teaching and focus on those areas.

Congratulations Judy on a successful start.

The play and discovery time is important in discerning how the tools can be effectively utilised in the classroom. The use of the tools has to meet a purpose.

Hi Judy! This is 'another Judy'...

I very much agree with what you said - my experience of technology in schools in the past has often involved "doing things just because they are possible" when there is definately not enough time!
Like you, I'm hoping to discover lots of new things that are possible but focus on the things that will help in the teaching/learning process.
